Funeral services will be Sunday, October 5, 2014, at 3 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Private burial will be Monday in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Ruth E. Mains, 98, of Kendallville died Thursday, October 2, 2014, at 8:25 p.m. in Presence Sacred Heart Home, Avilla.

She had resided in Avilla since July, 2010.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville and a former member of the Quest Club.

Mrs. Mains taught piano for many years and was the organist at Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville for 75 years.

She was born May 27, 1916, in Kendallville to Irvin and Mina (Bollinger) Weaver.

On November 23, 1937, in Kendallville she married Vincent I. Mains. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1977.

Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (George) Steckley of Galesburg, Illinois; a son, David (Annette) Mains of Huntertown; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Weaver and Raymond Weaver.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 5, 2014, at 3 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Steve Bahrt of Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville officiating. Private burial will be Monday in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Sunday, October 5, 2014, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
