Ruth Ann (Newberry) Fortune, 73, of Topeka, Indiana, departed her earthly life on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the home of her son in Topeka. She was born February 7, 1949, in Hazard, Kentucky to Raymond and Sylvia Newberry. Ruth came to Indiana in 1997, coming from Kentucky. She worked at Nibco in Goshen until she retired in 2009. Ruth enjoyed her sons, grandchildren, country music, dancing, flowers, and animals. Left behind to remember her radiance for life are a son, Charles (Delora) Reed of Topeka, daughter-in-law, Melissa Reed of Goshen; grandchildren, Christopher Reed, Zephanie Reed, Alex (Tori) Reed, Andrew (Christine) Reed, and Raymond Reed; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Joan) Newberry of Hazard, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Reed in 2018; her parents; and many siblings. There will be no visitation or services. A service of remembrance will be held at a later date.
