Ruth N. Fitzpatrick, 89, of Kendallville died Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at 3:50 p.m. in Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a lifetime area resident. She was the secretary to the principle at Northside Elementary School in Kendallville for 23 years. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was an avid reader, a seamstress and enjoyed knitting. She enjoyed attending Noble County Community Concerts, Broadway shows and traveled extensively with her daughter and son-in-law. She was affectionately known as "Bamma" by her grandchildren. Ruth was born April 20, 1918, in Kendallville to Geoffrey L. and Mabel E. (Richard) Browand. She was married in 1942 in Kendallville to Lawrence Brechbill. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1944. On September 30, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio, she married William F. "Fitz" Fitzpatrick. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1988. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Steven Burrill of San Francisco, CA; four grandsons, Joel, Jeff, Pete and Tom Burrill; nine great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, June and Robert Brennan of Kendallville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Browand. Services will be Sunday, September 2nd at 3 p.m. at the Young Family Funeral Home, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Rev. Leon Pomeroy of Faith United Methodist Church, Kendallville, officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville. Casketbearers will be Joel Burrill, Jeff Burrill, Tom Burrill, Mike Brennan, Jeff Brennan, Eric Smith, and Chuck Lemmon. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Ruth N. Fitzpatrick Memorial Fund, c/o Kendallville Public Library, 221 South Park Avenue, Kendallville, IN 46755
