Ruby A. Pearson Peck, 86, of Corunna died at her home Thursday, February 7, 2008, with her family at her side.
Mrs. Peck had lived in the area for 49 years, coming from West Virginia. She was a homemaker. She sang in church since her childhood. While living in West Virginia, she had a radio program with her husband, Mack Pearson.
She was born November 24, 1921, in Honaker, Virginia, to Ellis and Ruth (Miller) Peck. She married Mack Pearson on October 31, 1937, in Virginia. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1993. She then married Estel C. Peck on September 7, 1996, in Lebanon, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1999.
Surviving are five daughters and four sons-in-law, Maxine Compton of Kendallville; Debi and Palmer Smith of South Milford; Darlene & Ray Pierce of Matoka, West Virginia; Cindy and Bob Ransom of Adrian, Michigan; and Barbara and Marshall Pierce of Wolcottville; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Garnet Pearson of Maiden, North Carolina; Grover and Vickie Pearson of Stanley, North Carolina; Jerry and Linda Pearson of Corunna; and Tony and Lauretta Pearson of Kendallville; 41 grandchildren; 103 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; one sister, Mahala Hackler of Florida; and one brother, Henry Peck of Bristol, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Luther Pearson, Kent Pearson and Gregory Pearson and one brother, Clyde Peck.
Services will be Monday, February 11, 2008, at 10:30 am at the True Church of God in Jesus Name, 2664 South Lima Road, Kendallville, with Pastor Howard Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 2 pm on Sunday, February 10, 2008, at the church. Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
