Obituary

Roy Lee Gibson, 64, of Kendallville died Friday, September 14, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born May 22, 1954, in Kendallville to Ollie (Gibson) Heileman. He was adopted by his grandparents, Carew and Margaret Gibson.

Mr. Gibson worked at Pease Wind-O-Matic in LaOtto for 28 years. He was also a reserve police officer for the Kendallville Police Department for three years.

Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, animals, cooking, country music, and rock and roll. He dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer and Tim Roe of Claypool and Jamie Gibson of Kendallville; three grandchildren, Little Cub Gibson, Piper Smith, and Andrew Gibson; four brothers, Marty Heileman of Kendallville, Arnold Ray Gibson of Kendallvile, Tolbert Gibson of Kendallville, and Sheridan Hall of Butler; and two sisters, Barb Ferrell of Cromwell and DeAnn Belcher-Fields of Kendallville.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Gibson and Ledford Gibson; and four sisters, Verna Mae Gibson, Ollie Heileman, Ellen Conley, and Betty Hall.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. at Orange Township Cemetery near Rome City.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
