Roy B. Dobson, 78, of Corunna and formerly of Brimfield died Thursday, April 5, 2018, at his residence.
He was born July 21, 1939, in Hazard, Kentucky, to Ewell and Abby (Grigsby) Dobson.
He graduated from Alice Lloyd Junior College, formerly Caney Creek Junior College, in Caney Creek, Kentucky. He also attended the University of Kentucky.
Mr. Dobson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On November 25, 1960, in Hindman, Kentucky, he married Shirley Terry.
Mr. Dobson co-owned and operated T & D Mobil in Wolcottville with his brother-in-law, Henderson Terry. He retired from Federal Mogul in Avilla.
Roy loved all sports and was a fan of the University of Kentucky basketball. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Dobson of Corunna; a daughter, Theresa (Michael) Hale of Corunna; a son, Michael (Rebecca) Dobson of St. Ansgar, Iowa; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dobson; his parents; two sisters, Phyllis Caskey and Martha Dobson; and two brothers, Robert Dobson and Raymond Dobson.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Glen Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City at a later date.
Calling is Sunday, April 8, 2018, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
