Rosemary Schmetzer, 98, of Angola, Indiana, and formerly of Gary, Indiana died Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Lakeland Nursing Home in Angola.

She was born May 19, 1928, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Frank Damon and Mary (Hofbauer) Schmetzer.

Rosemary had worked at Sun Loan Company in Gary as a secretary.

Rosemary enjoyed music and played the organ and piano.

She is survived by her cousin Mary Beth Hazeldine (husband Nicholas Hazeldine) and her cousin Susan Beas (husband Harold Beas).

Rosemary will be buried in Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
