IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roselea "Rose"
Caldwell
February 7, 1940 – January 6, 2026
Roselea "Rose" Caldwell, 85, of Kendallville, Indiana, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, leaving behind a life rooted in love, quiet strength, and devotion to her family.
She was born February 7, 1940, in Silver Lake, Indiana, to Andrew and Mary Blanche (Saunders) Shepherd.
On September 4, 1976, she married Paul R. Caldwell. Together they built a life grounded in partnership and perseverance until Paul's death on March 14, 2013.
Rose was a homemaker and devoted farm wife, roles she fulfilled with pride and tireless dedication. She also worked for a time at Taylor Made in Kendallville, contributing her strong work ethic wherever she went. Home, however, was where her heart truly lived.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures by sitting in her garage with a word search puzzle in hand, keeping up with her daily television shows, and enjoying moments of quiet reflection. Above all else, Rose was a loving mother and grandmother, whose steady presence and gentle care formed the foundation of her family. Her love was constant, her support unwavering, and her influence enduring.
Surviving are six children, Jeff (Dianna) Wilson of Frostproof, Florida, Mark (Annie) Caldwell of Ligonier, Greg (Lori) Caldwell of Avilla, Teresa (Harlan) Arnold of Missouri, Teresa Pergrem of Rome City, and Kris Wisner of Kendallville; 19 grandchildren, including her grandson, Jon Haines of Kendallville who was her caregiver; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Randy (Marcie) Shepherd of Wabash and Brice (Carol) Shepherd of Rockford, Illinois.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Jarrod Dane Haines and Justin Arnold; two brothers, Ronnie Shepherd and Bill Shepherd; and two sisters, Dolly Harrold and Deloris Harrell.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
