Ronnie Duane Bortner, 73, of Wolcottville died Monday, March 28, 2016, in his residence.
He was a lifetime area resident.
He was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City and A.B.A.T.E. of Indiana.
Mr. Bortner retired as a truck driver for L & L Leasing in Walterloo. He also worked for Tri-State Hardwood in South Milford and drove a van for Council on Aging of Noble County.
Ronnie enjoyed motorcycles, golfing, and shooting guns.
He was born August 1, 1942, in Kendallville to Maynard and Emmajane (Becker) Bortner.
On July 14, 1968, in Brimfield he married Joan E. Cass. She survives in Wolcottville.
Also surviving are five sons, Gary (Vickie) Fry of Kendallville, Randy (Paula) Fry of LaGrange, Mike (Heather) Bortner of Wolcottville, Eric Bortner of Rome City, and John (Nicole) Bortner of Albion; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ed Bortner of Camden, Ohio, and Larry (Melvin) Bortner of Kendallville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City with Father Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no calling prior to the mass.
Preferred memorials are to St. Gaspar Catholic Church or masses to the church.
Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
