Roger L. Miller, 61, of Big Turkey Lake, LaGrange was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 9:25 p.m. in the I.U. Medical Center, Indianapolis with his family and many of his friends at his side following a ten year battle with multiple myeloma.

He was employed by Audio Visual Specialist in Fort Wayne from 1970-1976. He also worked for B & J Video Systems in Fort Wayne as corporate Vice President from 1976-1993. He last worked for Markey's Audio Visual in Fort Wayne as corporate service manager from 1993-2003.

Mr. Miller was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville. He also had been active in the Boy Scouts, 4-H, and Rural Youth.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Roger enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and he dearly loved his grandson.

He was born August 16, 1950, in Fort Wayne to Paul and Mary (Galloway) Miller. On July 15, 1972, he married Carol M. Shirk.

Surviving are his wife, Carol M. Miller of Big Turkey Lake; a daughter and son-in-law, Krystal and Bryan Gresock of Pittsboro; a son, Paul G. Miller of Hudson; a grandson, Brayden Gresock; a granddaughter to be born on April 24, 2012, Aubrey Lynn Gresock; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Bev Miller of Fort Wayne and Dennis and Julie Miller of Warsaw; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and David Allen of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life service will be Friday, March 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church Worship Center, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville, with Rev. Paul B. Griebel, Rev. Dr. Robert Shriner, and Rev. Dr. Brad Miller officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery near Stroh.

Honorary pallbearer is David Bruce. Active pallbearers will be Trevor Lorntz, Jason Miller, Travis Miller, Derek Lorenzen, Erin Lorenzen, and Chad Haunhorst.

Calling is Thursday, March 29, 2012, from 2 to 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Preferred memorials are to the I.U. Cancer Center for multiple myeloma research or St. John Lutheran Church.
