Roedonald "Don" Polly, 57, of Kendallville, Indiana, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, while working at his shop on Lincoln Street in Kendallville. He was born March 11, 1965, in LaGrange, Indiana, to Joe "Buster" and Eva (Noble) Polly. On October 26, 1985, in Wolcottville he married Shellie Lea Lower. Mr. Polly was the HVAC instructor at Impact Institute in Kendallville where he had worked for the last nine years. Don enjoyed being outdoors, mushroom hunting, off-roading, and golfing. He especially loved teaching at Impact Institute and the friendships he had with his students. He was always willing to help anyone who asked. His family said he will always be remembered for his fun-loving and carefree outlook on life. Surviving are his wife, Shellie Polly of Kendallville; a daughter, Elizabeth (Ryan) Milton of Westfield; a son, Michael Polly of Kendallville; four grandchildren, Jaxon Polly, Kaiden Polly, Addison Milton, and Liam Milton; three sisters, Rita (Rick) Shafer of Mongo, Becky Sparkman of Kendallville, and Renita (Rich) Bucholtz of Jones, Michigan; two brothers, Rick (Debbie) Polly of Osgood and Roger (Judy) Polly of Middlebury; his mother-in-law, Alice Lower of Kendallville; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Noble. Visitation will be Monday, March 21, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Clark Polly, Don's uncle, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Wolcottville. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Stewart and Roger Polly. Active pallbearers are Mark Webster, Josh Gerzmehle, Micky Stewart, Eric Lower, Derek Lower, Brad Place and Ben Tuffley. Preferred memorials may be directed to Impact Institute.
