Obituary

Rodney K. Hurst, 69, of Kendallville died Friday, July 16, 2021, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born April 25, 1952, in Drift, Kentucky, to Roy Albert and Eunice Mae (Hughes) Hurst. They preceded him in death.

In November of 1972, he married Linda Sue McDonald in Kendallville.

Mr. Hurst retired from Dalton Foundry in Kendallville.

He was a former member of the Assembly of God Church in Kendallville.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Sue Hurst of Kendallville; a son, Bryan Hurst of Kendallville; five grandchildren, Amber Nicole Hurst, Tyler Chad Hurst, Brandon Keith Hurst, Tristan Hurst, and Nicholas Everett Hurst; and two sisters, Diane Lynn (Kenny) McDonald of Kendallville and Rita Kay Martin of Kendallville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Chad Everett Hurst in 2010; and a grandson, Chad Nicholas Hurst in 1999.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 23, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.

Visitation is Friday, July 23, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
