Roberta D. Hicks, 88, of Garrett, Indiana, died Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Parkview DeKalb Hospital in Auburn.

She was born October 17, 1936, in Auburn to R.D. and Eunice (Rufner) Parker.

She married Luther Dennison. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1977. She then married Robert Richards. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2003. She then married Hance Hicks. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2017.

Roberta had worked at Rieke's in Auburn, Ashley's Little Grocery Store in Ashley, and was a babysitter in her home.

She was a member of Independent Full Gospel in Ashley.

Roberta spent the last several years of her life residing at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett. She greatly enjoyed her time there and was loved by all.

Surviving are her daughter, Rebekah Swager of Fremont; two grandchildren, Tonia Swager (Kris) and Jayson Swager (Amanda); seven great-grandchildren, Lucas Ireland, Dominique Roemke (fiancé, Ashton), Noah Keovongsy, Breanna Keovongsy, Emma Keovongsy, Rebekah Swager, and Brooklynn Swager; and two great great-grandchildren, Kylie and Bella.

She was also preceded in death by her father, R.D. Parker; her mother, Eunice Moses; a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Keovongsy ; a son-in-law, JB Swager; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 17, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson/Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson.

Burial will follow in Circle Cemetery near Hudson.

Visitation will also be on Monday, February 17, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service, also at the funeral home.
