Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, June 14, 2013 - 11 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City

Calling: Thursday, June 13, 2013 - 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel. Rosary service at 3:30 p.m. Calling also from 9-10 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home. ******************************************************************************** Robert M. "Bob" Weaver, 84, of Big Long Lake died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 6:10 p.m. in Presence Sacred Heart Home, Avilla.

He returned to this area in 1988, coming from Arizona.

Mr. Weaver worked at ITT in Fort Wayne for 28 years. In 1988, he retired as an engineer from Litton Industries in Tempe, Arizona. He was also a master carpenter and did cabinetry and sheet metal work. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years and a member of the National Rifle Association.

He was born July 26, 1928, in Fort Wayne to Theodore and Margaret (Martin) Weaver. On June 10, 1950, in Fort Wayne he married Joan E. Dirig. She followed him in death on Sunday, June 9, 2013.

Surviving are two sons, Lynn R. (Laura)Weaver of Adams Lake and Gary C. Weaver of Fort Wayne; and a daughter, Diane S. (Tom) Cassady of Arvada, Colorado; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Weaver of Murray, Kentucky, and Ted Weaver of Cedarville; a sister, Marie (Lloyd) France of Butler; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Weaver of Dayton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Weaver and a grandson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City, with co-celebrants, Fr. Matt Josefiak, Fr. Jim Miller, and Fr. Charles Mullen officiating. Burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery.

Calling is Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, with a Rosary service to be held at 3:30 p.m. Calling will also be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Presence Sacred Heart Home or masses to the church.
