Service: Wednesday, April 2, 2014 - 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel
Calling: Tuesday, April 1, 2014 - 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home ********************************************************************************* Robert L. Haston, 69, of LaGrange died Friday, March 28, 2014, at 9:07 a.m. near Howe.
He had lived in this area most of his life, coming from Tennessee.
Mr. Haston retired as a production supervisor and purchaser for Midwest Moulding in Wolcottville.
Robert was always there for others and was a mentor to many. Dad enjoyed watching wildlife from the deck on his house, or on his four-wheeler through the woods. Overseeing the garden...from all the crooked rows being planted to its harvest, was a job Dad took with a smile. Above all, what he enjoyed the most was loving and cherishing his family and putting their needs first.
He was born March 30, 1944, in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, to Claude L. and Lula M. (Bolen) Haston.
On November 28, 1968, in Stroh, he married Jo Ann Terry. She survives in LaGrange.
Also surviving are a son, Kevin (Nicole) Haston of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Jeff, Willy, and Justice Haston; three sisters, Margaret (Jr.) Sheley of Stroh, Marcella Mountz of LaGrange, and Donna (Rick) Halsebos of Vermontville, Michigan; a brother, Jerry (Iva) Haston of LaGrange; his wife's family that was also his family, including four sisters-in-law, Maudie Criswell of Kendallville, Jean (Bob) Millhouse of Albion, Ruby (Bill) Gayheart of LaGrange, and Londa Terry of Rome City; and four brothers-in-law, Elmer (Opsy) Terry of Hunter Lake, Roy (Judy) Terry of Barbersville, Kentucky, Jr. (Deb) Terry of Wolcottville, and Glenn (Linda) Terry of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jo Ann Terry; his father-in-law, Shelby Terry; his mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Helen and John Gibson; three brothers-in-law, Randall Terry, Edgel Terry, and Deke Terry and his wife, Pat Terry.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Madonna Snyder of the First Church of God in LaGrange officiating. Burial will be in Lake Bethel Cemetery in LaGrange County.
