Robert E. Fate, 88, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born January 8, 1934, in Bluffton, Indiana, to Albert and Verda (Leslie) Fate. He honorably served in the U.S. Army. On July 3, 1959, in Fort Wayne, he married Marjorie A. Niebel. Mr. Fate retired from Rae Magnet Wire in Fort Wayne. He was an active member of American Legion Post 241 in Waynedale, where he served as a part of the Honor Guard. Surviving are a daughter, Deborah K. Berg of Fort Wayne; and a granddaughter, Josalyn Burlew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Fate; a son, Ricky Schorr; a brother, William Fate; and a sister, Alberta Fate. Private burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery at Waynedale.
