Calling: Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 2 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home **************************************************************************************** Robert L. Conrad, 69, of Kendallville died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 5:45 p.m. in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was a lifetime area resident, and a 1964 graduate of Albion High School.
Mr. Conrad worked as a machinist for A-1 Production for 28 years. He retired from Guardian Industries after 13 years.
He was a proud member of the Noble County Gas and Steam Club.
Bob enjoyed drag racing and restoring cars and tractors, especially his "Old Cushman". He liked to watch his grandson race go-karts. He was a hard worker and always kept busy. Putting others to work was no problem for him, as he was good at delegating jobs for everyone.
He was born October 8, 1944, in Kendallville to Berland and Luella (Danner) Conrad. They preceded him in death.
On August 29, 1964, in Kendallville he married Suzanne M. "Suzie" Beiswanger.
Surviving are his wife, Suzie Conrad of Kendallville; two sons Tracy Conrad of Kendallville and Troy (Michele) Conrad of Kendallville; four grandchildren, Ali Conrad, Dylan Conrad, Brooke (Wayne) Diehm, and Ty Conrad; an extended grandson and close friend, Cam Schoeck of Kendallville; two great-grandchildren, Konnor Cleveland and Kyler Cleveland; four sisters, Jennie (Elvia) Rimmel of Albion, Joan (Harold) Troyer of LaOtto, Marilyn (Arg) Hamlin of Kendallville, and Carolyn (Ed) Stringfellow of Albion; and a brother, Jack Conrad of Texas.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Bret Frymier officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Calling is Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Noble County Gas and Steam Club.
