Robert "Bob" Clingan, 73, of Hudson died Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 10:27 a.m. in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born August 15, 1943, in Angola to Waldron and Mary Louise (Eckert) Clingan.
On August 2, 1964, in Flint he married Emily Call.
Mr. Clingan worked at Sheets Oil and Gas in Angola, Orland LP in Orland, and retired from Vestil Manufacturing in Angola.
He was a member of the Ashley Masonic Lodge #614. He served on the Helmer, Hudson and Salem Center Fire Departments for a total of 36 years.
Bob enjoyed working with his hands, mowing yard, flea markets, and collecting scrap. He enjoyed supporting and attending his grandchildren's sporting events and extracurricular activities.
Surviving are his wife Emily Clingan of Hudson; two sons, Jeff (Anita) Clingan of Salem Center and Douglas (Stacy) Clingan of Angola; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Sally (Bill) Lepley of Grabill; and two brothers, Ronald (Linda) Clingan of Hudson and Bill (Diane) Clingan of Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Greg Clingan; and a brother, Perry Clingan.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Hudson United Brethren Church with Pastor Craig Burkholder and Pastor Bill Lepley officiating. Burial will be at Circle Cemetery at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Clingan, Alex Clingan, AJ Clingan, Skylar Clingan, Lindsay Collins, Amelia Parrish-Thaxton, and Danyele Clingan.
Calling is Monday, August 14, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Masonic Lodge services will be held at 7 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to the family to assist with expenses.
Arrangements are by Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, (formerly Johnson Funeral Home), 612 North Main Street, Hudson.
