Obituary

Robert C. "Buck" Brendel, 54, of Kendallville died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 17, 2008, in his residence.

Mr. Brendel was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. He was an HVAC Journeyman, having worked at J.O. Mory until January, 2008. He had lived in Kendallville since 1980, coming from Connersville. He was a fan of NASCAR, Notre Dame, and Indiana University.

He was born June 15, 1954, in Connersville to Robert K. and Lois L. (Griffin) Brendel. He was married on May 2, 1981, in Connersville to Dawn Gabbard.

Surviving are his wife, Dawn Brendel of Kendallville; a son and daughter-in-law, R. Baron and Abby Brendel of Lafayette; a daughter and son-in-law, Leanne and Mark Middleton of Avilla; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Brenda Brendel of Clarkston, Michigan, and Mark and Teresa Brendel of Connersville; and a sister, Jan Huber of Connersville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Tyler Ward officiating.

Calling will be Friday, December 19, 2008, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
