Rita J. McGowan, 90, of Kendallville, Indiana died Sunday, August 31, 2025, at her residence.

She was born June 14, 1935, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to John R. and Emma Mary (Wiegand) St. Clair.

Rita was a homemaker.

Surviving is a daughter, Ann M. McGowan of Rome City, and a brother, Robert R. St. Clair of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew McGowan; and a son, John A McGowan.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Graveside services will be Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
