Obituary

Rilla J. Walter, 82, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Columbia City died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, in Heritage Park, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Walter worked at Monsanto in Ligonier and retired from King-Seeley in Kendallville.

Rilla loved to read and garden. Living on a farm, she always kept herself busy by farming, working outside the home, and raising her family.

She was born August 3, 1933, in Churubusco to Herbert and Bethel (Pennington) Harroff.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Ned) Lichtsinn of Rome City and Debra (Steve) Daniel of Pensacola, Florida; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Gator of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley G. Walter and nine brothers and sisters.

There will be no services or calling.

Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association.
