Obituary

Rilda B. Gayheart, 86, of Hazard, Kentucky, and formerly of Rome City died Sunday, May 2, 2010, in the Hazard Nursing Home.

Mrs. Gayheart had lived in Kentucky all except for 35 years when she lived in Rome City. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Lott's Creek Community Baptist Church in Kentucky.

She was born August 4, 1923, in Breathitt County, Kentucky. On October 14, 1938, in Hardburley, Kentucky, she married Taylor Gayheart.

Surviving are two sons, Higgins Gayheart of Sarasota, Florida, and Danny Gayheart of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Gayheart on March 23, 1996; a daughter, Janice Combs Gayheart; two sons, Anderson "Pete" Gayheart and Odis Gayheart; two sisters, Anna Brewer and Luna Pitts; and a brother, David Russell.

Graveside services will be Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is Wednesday, May 5, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, where there will be a funeral service at 7 p.m.
