Rickie Lee Young, 72, and Linda Jo Young, 76, of Albion, Indiana, died Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at their home.

Rickie was born September 5, 1951, at Luckey Hospital in Wolf Lake, Indiana, to Herman and Viola (Knafel) Young. They preceded him in death.

Linda was born November 30, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Kenneth Edwin and Katherine Jane (Roebel) Bechtold. They preceded her in death.

On May 16, 1992, Rickie and Linda were married in Fort Wayne.

Rick had worked at the Kendallville News-Sun and in sales for a commercial lighting industry.

Linda worked at Frick Lumber Company in Brimfield as secretary.

They were members of the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church.

Rick and Linda enjoyed watching birds, camping, and going on rides in their golf cart. Rick also loved to fish and Linda loved her flower gardens.

Surviving are two daughters, Julia (Rick) Page of Kendallville and Kristina Shirley of Bellevue, Washington; six grandchildren, William Shirley, Thomas Shirley, John "Jack" Shirley, Andru (Linh) Fanger, Ryan (fiancé, Veronica Engle) Page, and Aaric Page; one great-grandchild, Ài-Vy Fanger; and the mother of his children, Barbara (Jim) Pusateri of Fort Wayne.

Also surviving are Rick's sister, Brenda (Delbert) Manns of Avilla.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Miller and Lindol Abel; and a brother, Donald Young.

Also surviving are Linda's sister, Susan (Victor) Sheele of Huntertown.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marsha Lindeman and Nancy Powell.

A celebration of life service will be Friday, December 15, 2023, at 5 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Deanna Strombeck and Pastor Jim Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Burial will be at Christian Chapel Cemetery in Merriam at a later date.
