Richard Lee Stuby, 77, of Corunna, Indiana died Monday, July 27, 2026, at Parkview DeKalb Hospital in Auburn.

He was born March 25, 1949, in Spencer, South Dakota to Troy and Delphia (Burnham) Stuby.

Mr. Stuby honorably served in the United States Army.

He worked as a utility locator for many years and was a supervisor at Handy and Harmon in Kendallville.

Richard enjoyed drinking Miller Lite, spending time with his friends, and fishing. His greatest joy, however, was playfully antagonizing his grandchildren, who will forever cherish the laughter and memories he created.

Surviving are a daughter, Magan (Tyson) Carson of Garrett; two sons, Eric Shaffer of Morenci, Michigan and Chad Shaffer of Morenci, Michigan; ten grandchildren, Kamdyn Shaffer, Jaxten Shaffer, Ryder Shaffer, Jerrid Shaffer, Justin Shaffer, Ashton Shaffer, Aiden Shaffer, Samuel Fuller, Aubrey Carson, and Reid Carson; a great-granddaughter, Ophelia Fuller; a sister, Sue Weber; and two brothers, Bill Stuby and Ed Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Vesta Burnham; and two brothers, Curtis Stuby and Donnie Stuby.

Celebration of life services at the Kendallville VFW Post 2749, 127 Veterans Way, Kendallville will be announced shortly.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
