Obituary

Richard L. "Dick" Shoup, 77, of Kendallville died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at 12:35 pm in Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. He had been ill for three weeks.

Mr. Shoup was a Master Sergeant in the National Guard. He had worked for McCray Refrigeration in Kendallville, and retired in 1993 from Hoosier Wire after 16 years as a Quality Control Supervisor. He was also a member of the Titanic Historical Society.

He was born July 14, 1930, in Kendallville to Harry & Deloise (Martin) Shoup. His father died April 21, 1974, and his mother died February 20, 1989.

Surviving are cousins, Connie & Bill Cunningham of Pretty Lake and Mike Elliott of Indianapolis.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 14, 2007, at 10 am at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Jim Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in East Springfield Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jim Reick, Russ Burden, Steve Trowbridge, and Mike Young.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2007, from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
