Richard L. Jenkins, 77, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.

He was born July 16, 1948, in Canton, Ohio to Linden R. and Ella F. (Nichols) Jenkins.

On March 22, 1968, in Kendallville he married Pamela G. Powers. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2012.

Richard honorably served in the US Army.

Mr. Jenkins retired as a cook from Kraft Foods in Kendallville.

He was a member of the Kendallville Eagles Lodge 985.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Amanda Jenkins of Fort Wayne; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky Hogge and Andy Deatrick of Stuart, Florida; four grandchildren, Kenneth Hogge, Kody Hogge, Mason Jenkins, and Kaylee Jenkins; a brother, Leonard (Tal) Jenkins of Miami, Florida; a sister, Marge Duzan of Warsaw; and his stepmother, Rada Jenkins of Akron, Ohio.

Private family services will be held.

Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery near Corunna.

Honor guard services will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
