Obituary

Richard L. "Dick" Grice, Jr., 67, of Kendallville died Monday, March 24, 2008, at 6:40 pm at his residence. He had been ill for two weeks.

Mr. Grice had lived in Noble County since 1994, coming from Florida. He was raised in Niles, Michigan, and was a former member of the Sons of the Legion in Niles, Michigan, and Webster, Florida. He had worked as a cook in Kissimme, Florida.

He was born November 22, 1940, in Niles, Michigan, to Richard L. Grice, Sr. and Virginia (Hartline) Grice. On November 29, 1960, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, he married Sandra Moore.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Grice of Kendallville; his mother, Virginia Waite of Niles, Michigan; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tim Wooten of Ada, Ohio; three sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Tammy Grice of Watervleit, Michigan, Tony and Nancy Grice of Rome City, and Sean and Cindy Grice of Reed, Kentucky; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Phyllis Grice of South Bend.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Richard Grice.

Services will be Friday, March 28, 2008, at 11 am at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Pastor Steve Herendeen of Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Rome City officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville. Casketbearers will be Tony Grice, Sean Grice, Chris Grice, Jacob Wooten, Charles Wooten, Scott Grice, and Jed Wooten.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2008, from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the family.
