Obituary

Richard H. "Dick" Blue, 76, of Kendallville passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 5:53 a.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born May 31, 1943, in Kendallville to Donald J. and Glenna G. (Gates) Blue. They preceded him in death.

He was a 1961 graduate of Kendallville High School.

Richard and his brother, Larry, known as the Blue's Brothers, purchased Big Blue Market in 1975 located on South Main Street in Kendallville, and worked as owners and meat cutters. Once retired from Big Blue Market, Richard owned Blue's Lawn Care.

Richard enjoyed going to the woods, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his beloved family. He will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, his work ethic, his contagious laugh, and love for living life to the fullest.

Surviving are a daughter, Amy Blue Sage of Kendallville; four grandchildren that were his pride and joy, Lauren (Josh) Weimer, Morgan (Kevin) Rupert, Ashlyn Sage, and Sean Sage all of Kendallville; two great-grandchildren that are due later this year; a sister, Carol (Bill) Moree of Auburn; a brother, Larry (Caryl) Blue of Kendallville; and his beloved dog and man's best friend, Marley.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date at the location of his chosen resting place.
