Obituary

Reece Franklin "Frank" Armstrong, 59, of Kendallville died Monday, August 27, 2012, at 4:35 p.m. in Kendallville Manor HealthCare Center, Kendallville.

He had resided in this area most of his life, coming from West Virginia. He was a 1971 graduate of Garrett High School.

Frank was a U.S. Army veteran. He has been in the printing industry since high school, and most recently worked as a printing foreman at Kendallville Custom Printing in Kendallville.

He was a member of the Wolcottville Lions Club and American Legion Post 381, Rome City.

He was born March 7, 1953, in Pineville, West Virginia, to James Elmore and Jacqueline (Phillips) Armstrong. On February 14, 2003, in Kendallville he married Carol A. Hall. She survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are a stepson, Sean (Samantha) Masters of Huntertown; a stepdaughter, Ashley (Henry) Hatfield of Fort Wayne; one step grandchild; four brothers, Mike Armstrong of Oklahoma, Gary (Terri) Armstrong of Massachusetts, Randy (Debi) Armstrong of South Carolina, and Dave Armstrong of Angola; a sister, Nila (Bob) Saunders of Fort Wayne; and his stepfather, Herbert J. Brogan of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Elmore Armstrong, and his mother, Jacqueline Armstrong Brogan.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Rev. Lloyd Harlan officiating. Burial will be in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett.

Military graveside services will be provided by Rome City American Legion Post 381, Kendallville VFW Post 2749, and active duty members of the U.S. Army.

Calling is Thursday, August 30, 2012, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Friday.
