Obituary

Rebecca Ann Bowling, 87, of Avilla died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 9:45 p.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

She was born September 2, 1929, in Cawood, Kentucky, to James and Lucinda (Hensley) Howard.

She retired from Keeler Brass Company in Lake Odessa, Michigan.

Mrs. Bowling was a member of the Church of God in Lake Odessa, Michigan.

Rebecca loved plants, birds, especially cardinals, laying in the sun, cooking and she enjoyed making sure everyone was fed.

The family wishes to thank Presence Scared Heart Home in Avilla, in particular the Assisted Living Staff.

Surviving are three daughters, Ann (Bill) Roth of Lake Odessa, Michigan, Tammy (Brian) Hicks of Kendallville, and Sally (Marjus) Aliaj of Kendallville; three sons, James (Kathy) Napier of Lake Odessa, Michigan, Theo (Lynette) Messer of Sunfield, Michigan, and John Dale (Amy) Bowling of LaGrange; a daughter-in-law, Gerry Bowling of Lake Odessa, Michigan; 15 grandchildren, Jim, Billy, Annie, Jonathan, Lucinda, Heather, Ralphie III, Jamie, Amanda, Johnny, Melissa, Chad, Michael, Samuel, and Iliana; 10 great-grandchildren; 13 great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Henrietta McMillian of Cawood, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Bowling in June 1, 1984; a son, Ralph Bowling, Jr.; a sister, Polly Clem; and a daughter-in-law, Vickie Napier.

There will be no visitation or services.
