Reba L. Skinner, 97, of Kendallville died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 8:03 p.m. in Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.

Mrs. Skinner was a partner with her husband in their store in Kendallville, known as Skinners Sewing Center from 1952 to 1971.

She was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville. She was a Past Matron and 50-year member of the Eastern Star, Noble Chapter 122.

She was born March 2, 1913, in Jay County to William E. and Estella (Campbell) Beech. She married Kenneth Reid Skinner on July 7, 1929, in Muncie. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1998.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Dorothy Skinner of Kendallville; a grandson and his wife, Donald and Melody Skinner of Kendallville; a granddaughter, Bethany Ann Skinner of Indianapolis; two great granddaughters, Tiffany Skinner of Fort Wayne and Taylor Skinner of Kendallville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Pastor Steven Brittenham of Trinity Church United Methodist, Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Calling is Wednesday, June 23, 2010, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Humane Society of Noble County or to Trinity Church United Methodist.
