Obituary

Ralph J. Rupert, Jr., 71, of Kendallville died Friday, February 13, 2009, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne following surgery.

Mr. Rupert retired from International Harvester, working with them in Fort Wayne and Springfield, Ohio. He was a U.S. Navy veteran

He was born January 11, 1938, in Fort Wayne to Ralph J. and Irene (Evans) Rupert.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Barlow of Fort Wayne and Vickie Hield of Chicago; two sons, David Rupert of Noble County and Todd Rupert of Big Long Lake; six grandchildren, D.J. Rupert, Kristen and Byron Gifford, Brittany Clem, Shelby Clem, Levi Hield, and Leanna Hield; one great grandchild, Ethan Gifford; three sisters, Ruth Waldron of Kendallville; Carolyn Latta of Kendallville, and Jane Fluke of Auburn; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Ruth Rupert of Topeka, Keith and Peg Rupert of Skinner Lake; and Greg and Deena Rupert of Skinner Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Irene Rupert, and two brothers, Robert Rupert and Tom Rupert.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Post 2749, Kendallville.

Calling will be Monday, February 16, 2009, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
