Obituary

Rachel L. Dwyer, 50, of Corunna died Monday, October 8, 2012, at 7 a.m. in her residence.

She had lived in rural Corunna and Fort Wayne most of her life. She graduated from Concordia High School in Fort Wayne.

She worked for Michael D. Corps Financial Advisor in Kendallville as an administrative assistant and office manager for 27 years.

Mrs. Dwyer was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville.

She was born June 26, 1962, in Kendallville to David Paul and Maryellyn (Smith) Gemmer. On November 19, 1988, in Fort Wayne she married Dean A. Dwyer. He survives in Corunna.

Also surviving are her mother, Maryellyn Gemmer of Corunna; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sarah Clark of Corunna and Hannah and Andy Alatza of Westfield; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Lisa Gemmer of Avon; four nieces; and six nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Paul Gemmer on February 22, 2010.

A memorial service will be Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 1 p.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville, with Rev. Paul B. Griebel and Rev. Dr. Robert Shriner officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the library lounge.

Preferred memorials are to the family to honor requests Rachel had made for others or to the St. John Lutheran School Endowment Fund.
