Obituary

Princess (Hicks) Wheaton, 77, of Kendallville died January 9, 2017, at 10:05 p.m. in Presence Sacred Heart Home, Avilla.

She lived in this area 34 years ago, coming from Kentucky.

Ms. Wheaton retired in 1998 from No-Sag in Kendallville.

She was born June 11, 1939, in Floyd County, Kentucky, to Green Robert and Sally Ann (Collins) Hicks.

Surviving are a son, Chris (Teresa) Knight of Angola; three daughters, Sonia (Greg) Thornsberry of Eastern, Kentucky, Marcia (Henry) Jordan of Twin Lake, Michigan, and Melissa (Ken) Meyers of Kendallville; 10 grandchildren, Steven Fowle of Oklahoma, Sean Fowle of Michigan, Samantha Fowle of Michigan, Kyle Wheeler of Fort Wayne, Kacy Wheeler of Angola, Jordan Collins of Kendallville, Brianna Collins of Kendallville, Courtney (Daniel) Siples of Kendallville, Cody (Kayla Hicks) Meyers of Kendallville, and Madison Knight of Angola; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Lartigue of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Leslie Knight; two brothers, Edgar Hicks and Eugene Hicks; and three sisters, Edna Garrison, Marjorie Adkins, and Irene Collins.

Graveside services will be Friday, January 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Orange Cemetery near Rome City with Pastor Chris Mosley of Grace Christian Church in Kendallville officiating.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
