Obituary

Phyllis M. Haslup, 89, of Avilla died Monday, December 31, 2007, at 10:05 pm in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

Miss Haslup was a lifetime resident of the Fort Wayne and Avilla areas. She retired from Community State Bank in Avilla after 17 years. She was a member of the Kendallville 1st Church of God and a past board member of the Noble County Humane Society.

She was born April 26, 1918, in Fort Wayne to Lawrence D. & Nina M. (Clem) Haslup.

Surviving are three nephews, two nieces, several great nephews and nieces, and her German Shepherd dog, Sarah.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Haslup and a half sister, Gladyes Schmidt.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5, 2008, at 11 am at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Pastor Jim Kane of the Kendallville 1st Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Christian Union Cemetery near Garrett.

Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2008, from 4-6 pm and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Noble Home Health & Hospice or the Kendallville 1st Church of God.
