Obituary

Phillip C. "Pone" Rice, 33, of LaGrange died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Syracuse.

He was born November 18, 1983, in Bluffton to Artie V. and Judith (Murphy) Rice.

He was a 2003 graduate of Prairie Heights High School.

Mr. Rice was employed by Davey Tree as a tree trimmer. He had also worked in area recreational vehicle factories. He was also a jack of all trades and loved the outdoors.

Surviving are four sons, Tevis Rice, Colten Rice, and Cayman Rice all of Butler and Izaak Rice of Jonesville, Virginia; his mother and stepfather, Judith and Eric Clark of LaGrange; his father, Artie V. Rice of Jonesville, Virginia; four sisters, Wendy (Dallas) Quinley of Wolcottville, Angel Langley of Virginia, Kailey Rice of Bristol, Virginia, and Erica Henderson of Waterloo; two brothers, Dane Clark of LaGrange and Jared Langley of Jonesville, Virginia; maternal grandmother, Beulah Murphy of Bluffton; paternal grandmother, Bobbie Rice of Lake Placid, Florida; paternal grandfather, Russell Ross of Wabash; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Thena Rice.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 1, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville. The family requests that you come as you are and there is no need to dress up.

There will be no funeral service.

Preferred memorials are to the family to assist with expenses.
