Obituary

Pauline E. Graff, 68, of Blackman Lake died Monday, July 13, 2020 at her residence.

She was born May 21, 1952 in Kitchener, Ontario to Elmer and Mildred (Reynolds) Bechtel.

On December 6, 1975 in New Paris she married Douglas K. Graff. He survives at Blackman Lake.

She moved to Blackman Lake in 2018, coming from Goshen.

Pauline enjoyed quilting, fishing, cooking and spending time on the lake.

Mrs. Graff was a county auditor for Elkhart County. She attended Archbold High School in Ohio and later Goshen College.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was president of the Indiana State Auditors Association for eight years and she was auditor of the year for the state of Indiana for two years.

Also surviving are two sisters, Melva Sanders and Eva Miller; a sister-in-law, Pat Bechtel; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Bechtel; a sister, Arlene Hartsough; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Hartsough.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Goshen VFW Post 985, 1201 W. Pike Street, Goshen. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to the Blackman Lake Improvement Association.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
