Obituary

Paul Jude Venderley, 77, of Rome City died Saturday, August 12, 2017, in his residence.

He was born November 14, 1939, in Fort Wayne to Paul and Joan (Bobay) Venderley.

On June 13, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he married Theresa L. Neuhaus. She survives at Rome City.

Mr. Venderley honorably served in the U.S. Army.

He retired from the Fort Wayne City Police Department after 32 years of service.

He was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City.

Paul loved being outdoors whether he was hunting, sitting in the woods, or just enjoying the lake.

Also surviving are three daughters, Tracy Venderley of Virginia, Marcy (Paul) Venderley-Schwarz of Florida, and Sedona (Kyle) Maresh of Milford; six sons, Brent Venderley of Florida, Joshua Venderley of Angola, Kit (Haley) Venderley of Seymour, Jay (Ashley) Wetzel of Fort Wayne, Justin (Janielle) Shearer of Fort Wayne, and Jacob (Kristi) Shearer of Millersburg; nine grandchildren, Leah Shearer, Keona Shearer, Abby Shearer, Caleb Shearer, Zach Shearer, Jazzlyn Venderley, Tenor Venderley, Landon Schwarz, and Adalynn Wetzel; a sister, Teresa Gallmeyer of Fort Wayne; and four brothers, Dave (Carol) Venderley of Fort Wayne, Phil (Kathy) Venderley of Fort Wayne, Pete (Pam) Venderley of Fort Wayne, and Mark (Cindy) Venderley of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Joan Venderley; and two grandchildren, Elliona Shearer and Teegan Wetzel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 11 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery, Rome City with Father Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery.

Calling is Wednesday, August 16, 2017, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
