Calling: Sunday, May 19, 2013 - 5 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home **************************************************************** Paul Eugene Baldwin, 43, of Kendallville passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

He has lived in Kendallville for 15 years, coming from Angola.

As a youth, Paul gave his life to Christ and was a long-time member of Robinson Chapel United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne, and more recently attended Wayne Center United Methodist Church in Kendallville.

He was involved with the Chinchilla industry and its national organizations with his parents from the time he was a toddler until he graduated from high school. He excelled in the building trades program at DeKalb High School where he graduated in 1988, and did some carpenter work with his Dad among other things.

In the mid 1990's, he became a first responder and a firefighter with the Salem Center Volunteer Fire Department. He graduated cum laude from the Ivy Tech Maintenance Certification Program and worked at Graphic Packaging for 11 years. Most recently, Paul was employed at Indiana Marine Products in Angola.

Paul had great skills as a handyman in all sorts of things. He loved the outdoors, especially camping as a family and fishing with his kids.

He was born April 6, 1970, in Fort Wayne to Joseph E. "Joe" and Joan A. (VanHorn) Baldwin. They survive in Auburn. On November 14, 1998, in Kendallville he married his love and best friend, Charlotte L. Gibson. She survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are a daughter, Ashlyn Sierra Gibson-Baldwin, at home; a son, Michael Joseph Baldwin, at home; a brother Dale (Lisa) Baldwin of Butler; two sisters, Connie (John) Tempel of Jacksonville, Florida, and Karen (Joe) Mansfield of Butler; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth VanHorn of Fort Wayne; nine nieces and nephews; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; several cousins, aunts, and uncles; his mother-in-law, Sharon Gibson of Kendallville; and his bestest buddy, Paul Thompson of Kendallville.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Clarence E. VanHorn; paternal grandparents, Glen and Dorotha Baldwin; and a nephew, Ryan Baldwin.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Sherri Long and Pastor Jill Wright officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Pallbearers will be Michael Baldwin, Paul Thompson, Jay Smart, Pat Martin, Curtis VanHorn, Josh Howe, Shane Miller, and David Miller.

Calling is Sunday, May 19, 2013, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services.

Preferred memorials are to the family.
