Obituary

Patricia L. Kern, 77, of Kendallville died Friday, February 1, 2019, at 12:13 p.m. at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.

She was born December 19, 1941, in Ligonier to Joseph and Beverly (Billman) Stechcon.

On December 23, 1965, in Corunna she married Edward L. Kern. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2013

Mrs. Kern was a homemaker.

Pat enjoyed playing cards. She dearly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Surviving are three sons, Brad (Angie) Kern of Kendallville, Terry Young of Kendallville, and Dennis (Carolyn) Kern of Goshen; a daughter, Cindy Adkins-Kern of Pine Island, Florida; four grandchildren, Phoenix Biscuso, Teesha Kern, Joel Kern, and Jason Kern; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Perkins of Kendallville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her father; her mother, Beverly Brorman; two brothers, David Stechcon and Michael Stechcon; a grandson, Lukis Szander Kern; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Jo Kern.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Rev. Ken Walker of the Wayne Center United Methodist Church, Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brad Kern, Steve Perkins, Bryce Perkins, Phoenix Biscuso, A.J. Fraley, and Angie Kern.

Visitation is Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Preferred memorials are to the family for funeral expenses.
