Obituary

Palmer Gene Powers, 64, of Kendallville died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 8:30 p.m. in Kendallville Manor HealthCare Center, Kendallville.

He was a coal miner while living in Kentucky. After moving to Kendallville, he worked in factories in the area.

He was born May 21, 1947, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Russell and Ina Bell (Paige) Powers.

Surviving are two daughters, Amanda Powers and Christy Ann Powers, both of Texas; two sons, Russell Powers of Kendallville and Jason (Nettie) Powers of Ashley; a sister, Linda (Bob) Page of Waterloo; and two brothers, Larry Powers of Kentucky and Billy Ray (Nadine) Powers of Mongo. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 12 Noon in Charity United Baptist Church in LaGrange County with Elder Zach Brown and Brother Travis Moore officiating.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
