Oveta N. "Tootie" Radovic, 91, of Kendallville died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.
Mrs. Radovic was a lifetime area resident, having resided in Phoenix, Arizona for a short time. She was employed by McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville.
She was a founding member, the first President, and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2749 in Kendallville.
She was born July 27, 1918, in Woodville, Ohio, to William Frank and Georgiana (Stevens) Zimmerman.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Darron and Linda Burkett of Kendallville; a niece, Veryle "Susie" Weimer of Kendallville; and three great nephews, Lang Beiswanger, Lee Beiswanger, and Lew Beiswanger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Radovic in 1990, a sister, Allegra "Pinkie" Uhl, and a brother, Marcel Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 6, 2009, at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Jim Piepenbrok of VFW Post 2749 officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Calling is Thursday, November 5, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
