Orville Huff, 80, of Wawaka, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 18, 2011, at 12:45 p.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.
He had lived in the area since 1958, coming from Michigan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1952 to 1954.
He retired from No-Sag Spring Company in Kendallville after 38 years.
He was a faithful member of the Cosperville Baptist Church and the Senior Moments group at the church.
Orville enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived by the Golden Rule and always taught his children right from wrong.
He was born June 18, 1931, in Thornton, Kentucky, to Floyd and Cora (Amburgey) Huff. On December 2, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, he married Anna Joyce Adams.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Anna Joyce Huff of Wawaka; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Lynn Huff of Kendallville, Jerry and Ronda Huff of Kimmell, and Jeff and Ronda Huff of Albion; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Huff of Kimmell, Ryan Huff of Fort Wayne, Jana Hernandez of Kendallville, Jessica Huff of Kendallville, Justin Huff of Kendallville, and Melissa Huff of Kendallville; five step grandchildren, Nichole Anderson-Brugh and Cory Brugh of Osceola, Rachael and Quinn Fletcher of Bristol, Jeremy Anderson of Kendallville, Shane Smith of Albion, and Megan Smith of Albion; 12 great grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, Colin, and Caleb Huff of Kimmell, Dylan and Austin Huff of Highland, Mariah, Jenna, and Sofia Hernandez of Kendallville, Lorellei and Eliza Fletcher of Bristol, and Riley Anderson-Brugh of Osceola; and a brother and sister-in-law, Okera and Bernice Huff of Manistee, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Cornelius Huff and Delmas Huff.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Jim Barnes of the Cosperville Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Jay Huff, Ryan Huff, Justin Huff, Jeremy Anderson, Tyler Huff, and Jessica Huff.
Calling is Sunday, November 20, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.
Preferred memorials are to the new structure fund at the Cosperville Baptist Church, 8851 N 250 W, Wawaka, Indiana, 46794.
