Olive Louise Conrad, 88, of Kendallville died unexpectedly Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne surrounded by her family.
She was born May 31, 1930, in Kendallville to Fred E. and Thelma (Mayes) Hoffelder.
On July 3, 1947, in Kendallville she married Lloyd M. Conrad. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2001.
Mrs. Conrad had worked at Kraft Foods in Kendallville and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Wayne Center United Methodist Church, Kendallville.
Being an artistic person, Olive loved to paint and draw. She also enjoyed the water aerobics class at the Kendallville YMCA and playing dominoes with The Club. Her humorous nature will be missed by her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary L. (Douglas) Brewer of Kendallville, and Nancy M. (Ron) Katt of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; a son, Fredrick Conrad of Tarpon Springs, Florida; daughter-in-law, Paula Conrad; eight grandchildren, Chris Rimmel, Ronda (Jeff) Huff, Dylan (Mayra) Conrad, Amber (Greg) Hardy, Melissa Conrad, Tara Hale, Paul Conrad, and Shelley Holt; 13 great-grandchildren, Scarlet Teschke, Megan Sproat, Shane Smith, Liliana Conrad, Wyette Conrad, Andrew Conrad, Luke Conrad, Ashlyn Conrad, Amber Conrad, Anna Le Conrad, Ariana Conrad, Ava Holt, and Ivy Holt; three step great-grandchildren, Jessica Merklilng, Justin Huff, and Melissa Huff; one great great-granddaughter, Harper Sproat; four sisters, Laura Mae Coleman of Kendallville, Mary Jane Double of Ossian, Dorothy Jones of Ossian, and Sally (Bud) Parman of Florida; and two brothers, Harold (Shirley) Hoffelder of Kendallville and Tom (Carol) Hoffelder of Wisconsin.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Dan Conrad, two grandsons, Brett Conrad and Danny Conrad; three sisters, Barb Swartz, Betty Fletcher, Catherine Hoffelder; and a brother Clifford Hoffelder.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with the Rev. Ken Walker of Wayne Center United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Pallbearers are Andrew Conrad, Dylan Conrad, Wyette Conrad, Shane Smith, John Sproat, and Justin Huff.
Calling is Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Wayne Center United Methodist Church.
