Obituary

Nellie May Michael, 78, of Witmer Lake, Wolcottville died Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 9:56 p.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

She lived at Witmer Lake for over 10 years, coming from Ligonier where she had lived for 30 years.

Mrs. Michael retired after 37 years from Monsanto in Ligonier.

She was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City and the Monsanto 35 Year Club.

She was born February 22, 1937, in Kendallville to Roland and Mary Josephine (Walchalk) Henney.

Surviving are a son, Gregg (Lori) Michael of Ligonier; four grandchildren, Dustin Michael, Cortney (Kenny) Wingard, Misty Michael, and Cory Michael; a step grandson, Kaden Burnette; three great grandchildren, Brody Wingard, Bentley Wingard, and Summer Wingard; three sisters, Mary (Phil) Deardorf of Los Gatos, California, Stephanie (Duane) Jackson of Indianapolis, and Kathy (Clint Blaising) Dodd of Rome City; and a brother, John (Judy) Henney of Kendallville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roland Henney; her mother, Mary Josephine Henny Jackson; and her stepfather, Lyle Jackson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Father Jim Miller of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Tuesday, October 6, 2015, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
