Obituary

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2014, at 5 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church ******************************************************************************** Nancy Jo Gordon, 81, of Kendallville and formerly of Avilla died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at 11:05 a.m. in Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.

She worked in management for the Salvation Army in Fort Wayne. She later managed group homes for Your Friends and Neighbors until the age of 73 when she retired.

Mrs. Gordon was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church.

She was born March 6, 1933, in Noble County to Willis "Bill" and Mildred Inez "Peg" (Shultz) Deetz.

Surviving are four sons, Paul (Beth) Gordon of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, John Gordon of Kendallville, Scott Gordon of Kendallville, and Roger Gordon of Avilla; five grandsons, Colin (Lesley) Gordon of Indianapolis, Ethan (Hannah) Gordon of Avilla, Andrew Gordon of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Austin Gordon of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, and Lucas Roe of Albion; two granddaughters, Arynn Gordon of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and Darby Roe of Albion; a sister, Peggy (C. Richard) Springer of Snow Lake; two brothers, Robert Deetz of Woodburn and Tom Deetz of New Haven; a sister-in-law, Barb Kissner of The Villages, Florida; and a special friend, Bridget Frey of Kendallville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mike Gordon; a daughter, Carla Gordon; a brother, Larry Deetz; and a sister, Sue Striggle.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 5 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
