Calling: Friday, July 12, 2013 - Noon to 2 p.m. in the funeral home ********************************************************************************* Mildred Louise Subzda, 88, of Fort Wayne died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 8:54 p.m. in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She moved to McClish Lake from Fort Wayne in 1970. Following that she moved to Kendallville, Rome City, and in 2008 moved to Fort Wayne to live with her daughter, Laurie.

She retired as a receptionist for Coldwell Banker in Kendallville.

Mrs. Subzda was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and a former member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City. She was also a volunteer at the McCray Memorial Hospital gift shop in Kendallville for many years.

She was born August 22, 1924, in Fort Wayne to Charles and Mildred L. (Flick) Buchanan. On February 12, 1945, in Fort Wayne, she married Edward W. Subzda. He preceded her in death in 1984.

Surviving are a son, Tom (Joan) Subzda of Rome City; two daughters, Linda Ochman of Aurora, Colorado, and Laurie (Ronald) Poper of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Andrew Subzda, Erin Ochman Brown, Chad Ochman, Curtis Boley, and Anthony Poper; three step grandchildren, Ronald Poper, Jr., Eric Poper, and Christina Tuttle; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Buchanan; and two sisters, Mary Smith-Olson and Alice Harber.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 12, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Bernard Ramenaden of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery near Stroh.

Calling is Friday, July 12, 2013 from Noon to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
