The family will receive friends at a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, March 21, 2015, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Kendallville Elks Lodge 1194, 120 Weston Avenue, Kendallville. *************************************************************************************** Michael D. "Woody" Woodward, 61, of Kendallville passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Mike graduated from Taylor High School in Kokomo and received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Ball State University.

He worked for Farm Bureau Insurance in Albion as a claim representative from 1978 to 1988 where he met his future wife, Donna, and made many good friends. He then pursued a career at K & K Insurance in Fort Wayne in March of 1988, where he was eventually promoted to Vice President-Claims Director. He made many good friends at K & K, and often referred to them as "his work family."

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kendallville and Kendallville Elks Lodge 1194.

Mike showed pride in raising his two beautiful daughters and spending quality time with his first grandchild, Kali. He enjoyed golfing with friends and made many good memories. He was a fun, positive, outgoing person, and made a huge impression on many.

He enjoyed watching basketball and football while eating coney dogs with his friends. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears and IU Hoosiers.

He was born January 26, 1954, in Hollywood, Florida, to Harry and Elaine (Eaton) Woodward.

On August 4, 1984, in Fairmount he married Donna Record on her parents' farm. She survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are his daughters, Sara (Jordan) Spaw of Big Long Lake and Jill Woodward of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Kali Spaw, and another grandchild on the way; his father, Harry Woodward of Kokomo; a sister, Julie (Everett) Vice of Marion; and a nephew, Keith (Chrissy) Vice of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents, Bob and Vera Eaton; and an uncle, Bob Eaton.

A private graveside service will take place Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

The family will receive friends at a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, March 21, 2015, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Kendallville Elks Lodge 1194, 120 Weston Avenue, Kendallville.

Preferred memorials are to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, 1005 West Rudisill Blvd., Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46807; American Cancer Society, 111 East Ludwig Road, Suite 105, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825; or to the Indiana 520 College Plan for the benefit of Kali, with checks made payable to College Choice Advisors.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
