Michael Walter McLain, 85, of Hudson, Indiana died Friday, September 18, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born July 28, 1941, in Helmer, Indiana to Donald and Josephine Evelyn (Burch) McLain.

He married Patty Keller on June 28, 1963 in Angola.

Michael honorably served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. McLain had built pole barns and was a farmer.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes and went to many World tournaments.

Surviving are his wife, Patty McLain of Hudson; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Tonoa McLain of Hudson; three grandchildren, Brittany (Roman) Motyka, Brandi (Michael) Houtz, and Brook Snyder; and two great-grandchildren, Amara Houtz and Maya Motyka.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sandra K. Groosbeck; and two brothers, Gordon E. McLain and Steven K. McLain.

There will be no visitation or funeral services. Burial will be at South Scott Cemetery at a later date.
