Obituary

Michael D. Holliday, 55, of Rome City died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the home of his daughter in Kendallville.

He moved to this area 50 years ago, coming from Kentucky.

Mr. Holliday was a self-employed contractor.

Mike enjoyed playing guitar, looking for antiques, bonfires, and camping. He especially loved his grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.

He was born July 28, 1960, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Sturgill and Lorie (Mosley) Holliday. His father preceded him in death, and his mother survives in Rome City.

On November 24, 1979, in Avilla he married Cathy J. Garman. She survives in Rome City.

Also surviving are three daughters, Courtney (Jack Keiser) Miller of Kendallville, Casey (Jonathon) Jacobs of Ligonier, and Sydney Holliday of Kendallville; two sons, Michael (Ashley) Holliday of Kendallville and Travis (April Slone) Holliday of Mongo; 17 grandchildren, Jaden, Chance, Cammy, Kathy, Benji, Taylor, Molly, Baylee, Tori, Addison, Ryder, Trace, Corey, Jessie, Jonathan, Kennedy, and Charligh; three step-grandchildren, Jasmine, Trevor, and Collin; five sisters, Beverly Trammel of Rome City, Marcella Gillian of Rome City, Kimberly (Erik) Keck of Wolcottville, Lisa Fugate of Wolcottville, and Teresa (Larry) Criswell of Rome City; and two brothers, Chris (Susan) Holliday of Rome City and Mickey (Robin Funk) Holliday of Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 11 a.m in Grace Christian Church, 126 E. Mitchell Street, Kendallville with Pastor Scotty Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Pallbearers will be Erik Keck, Duane Trammel, Chris Holliday, Mickey Holliday, Larry Criswell, Mike Holliday, Travis Holliday and Jonathan Holliday.

Calling is Monday, December 28, 2015, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the church.

Preferred memorials are to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
